History: Wiki
Personality:
In the world of Eorzea, there are adventurers and heroes willing to sacrifice it all to keep the realm safe. Most do this by going out into the world and fight beasts and gods, taking a hands on approach. Then there are those who are leaders who take a backseat and let everyone else do the fighting. Minfilia is one of those in the second category as she is the leader or Antecedent of the groups the Path of the Twelve and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. While she may not fight and sometimes is more in the damsel in distress, she is someone who has a strong will, who puts everyone else’s needs before her own, and overall a warm and caring person.
Minfilia is shown as a warm and a bit of a caring person throughout A Realm Reborn. When first meeting the Adventurer (player character), her first words were about how they are among friends and not to worry as she explained about what the Scions did and their interest in the adventurer. She never pushed them to join the group, giving them time to make their decision before going straight to work. She shows worry when a friend is in distress such as when Thancred put himself down about leaving the player character alone to face Ifrit. When she heard the headquarters of the Students of Baldesion suddenly vanishing, Minfilia was the one who constantly ordered to hear updates on what happened, moreso the fate of a dear friend of hers named Krile. According to Krile herself in Patch 3.2, she told Thancred that Minfilia constantly checked in on her condition when she was found alive but in a coma-like state. And when she made the adventurer an official Scion, she tells them that she hopes that they would come to see the group not just a fighting force and protectors, but a family.
While she is more damsel than hero, Minfilia is stubborn and strong willed. She showed this a few times throughout the story such as during the 2.0 storyline when she and several Scions were captured by the Garleans. Since she has the Echo, they wanted to know everything about it such as how to use it but she refused to tell one of the higher ups (or anyone for that matter) and kept quiet. The same happened when one of the Ascians, Nabriales, kidnapped her because she refused to let them have Louisoix's staff during Before the Fall. This also leads into another point about her: how she defends her friends and allies. While in the middle of being transported from Castrum Centri, Minfilia told her captors that if any of her friends were to be harmed, she would take her own life and therefore giving them no chance to gain any knowledge of the Echo power they've been wanting to know about. Prior to this, she told Livia san Julius, an underling of the legatus of the XIV Legion of Garlemald that she would surrender herself if only the woman would spare the lives of the other Scions in the Waking Sands. However, Livia turned against her word and massacred most of the Scions so sometimes when she does something like that it does not turn in her favor.
Just because she is what we would call a damsel in distress, it doesn't mean that Minfilia is useless. In fact, at the start of the player's journey, it is Minfilia who introduces them to a resistance group in order to get a group of Ala Mhgians to speak to them for an assignment. She is aware of the political climate of the city-states of Gridania, Ul'dah, and Limsa Lominsa and several of the Scions are even stationed in certain cities. The way she would prefer to handle most situations that are not primal or Ascian related are mainly through talking and negotiations. One example was when the three Grand Company leaders were in a conference to discuss if they should surrender to the Garleans but Minfilia and a few others rushed in to stop them. Minfilia had also approved of a group of Doman refugees to live in the town of Revenant's Toll when Ul'dah refused to let them stay due to their own refugee problems. But even though she is kind hearted and willing to help those in need, she does know that it has limits. During the beginning of 2.3, Defenders of Eorzea, Minfilia had to turn away a group seeking asylum because the town was being too stretched between adventurers and Scions and it pained her to even do such a thing.
Overall, while Minfilia is no fighter, she is a small influence when it comes to Eorzea. She's kind and caring to those she considers friends and family, can understand and walk through the political bullshit even if she cannot relieve it as with the second group of refugees. Sure she needed someone to save her a couple of times but the woman was stubborn as the seven hells and put the safety and happiness of her friends and others over herself, willing to sacrifice herself for their own good and for the good of Eorzea.

To All Heroes of Light:
To those who have not met me in Mysidia or in Aqures Ixen, my name is Minfilia and I am one of those who was summoned to this realm by the woman called Kalki. If anyone wishes to inquire about what had occurred these past few moons, I am open and welcome to all discussions; if we are to work together in this, it is best for everyone to be on the same page. However, I wish to speak on something more recent that has happened to us all.
Some of us who have been on this long journey were reunited with loved ones. We have made plans and told stories about we have discovered or what we have learned along the way. Sometimes the stories we spoke were of times from our own worlds and remembering times when things were tough or hopeless and yet...somehow we saw them through despite the odds against us. One can say the same applies here. And while I and a few have stayed, some of us who made the journey did not. I cannot begin to describe the pain that came along with seeing comrades vanish within crystal or much worse nor can I speak for everyone who has seen or felt what happened.
For those we have lost, for those we can still save...let us remember them not for their last moments but for the journeys we have made with them. I am reminded of telling a dear friend that they were my pillar of strength but now I will pass this along to anyone who is reading this: it is not just one person who holds it together but all of us. Let us all be the ones to hold each other up and be those pillars. We are not alone in this endeavor so let us stand together for those who are no longer with us and those here we wish to protect.
