The Heroes don't get squat if they don't save Trano, though, so the price won't matter. They can't really save the city without a sapphire crystal, unless someone wants to convince Sephiroth to cough up the one he's secretly holding onto.
And again, it wouldn't feel right to even take money if they did save the city, yes?
And I do not know how close anyone is to Sephiroth within the group or even know he's holding onto one so that might be a thing that won't happen. But more importantly is getting folks out before Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies.
Even assuming they would know (and he'd probably be close enough to Sephiroth to discuss it, for that matter), Ace is of the opinion that at this point, saving Trano is of lower priority than saving more populous cities like Aqures or Mysidia, and thus, they can't really afford using another Crystal.
As for the evacuation itself, I'd suggest we wait for the mod response and the reaction that goes with it, since there's no telling how the Tarutaru might reply... though it would be nice to have a basic outline.
... I'm not sure if I follow, though? Yes, they could, but that part doesn't seem relevant unless the Heroes are genuinely interested in getting the money, since it doesn't influence their decision anyhow.
I believe the decision itself is already a proof enough of that, so we should be good. There's nothing wrong with taking our response further, but in this case, it seems clearer to simply state that they're not interested in the money, regardless of the amount! Otherwise, it's as though we're purposely pushing the potatoes into making higher bids... unless I'm getting the whole concept wrong, in which case feel free to correct me on that.
No. It was basically matching stubbornness with stubbornness, since the task gave a range of monetary amounts the Tarutarus were willing to offer. It wasn't meant as a goading measure, but as proof that the money would be better spent elsewhere.
And as a means to jump to suggest moving to Esdham.
Kind of like when with your friends.
How about I give you $1 to do [this]. No. Two dollars? No. How about three? No. Sheesh. Fine. Have it your way.
That sort of scenario. But like I said, don't worry about it. I was just trying to put a little "struggle" into it, that's all.
It'd probably be a good idea (Rialynn would suggest) to appeal to their pride with flattery. It's hard to tell without getting a good gauge of their reactions and personality, but if they seem to respond well to having their egos stroked about how much better they could make Esdham become, either having new attractions that bring hope and fun to the people, or restoring an old gem that had lost its luster, that might be a good angle to pursue.
I wouldn't be surprised that they have egos to be stroked...LOL
So, we'll go with that?
Went for their egos while suggesting they move to Esdham? Especially if they suggest just how much more money they'll make by people going there to see the "new" Esdham.

Because the money would mean a lot to the research going on and help with rebuilding things.

The Tarutarus could be the ones dangling the whole "think of the research/think of fixing the city" bait in front of them.
I mean, hell, they could go the full amount before giving in.
